Who We Are

We are a kitchen design and handmade furniture company in Bristol. Established in 2019, our founders Murray and George met through Bristol's mountain biking scene.

Starting out in a corner of a shared workshop, orders grew rapidly in our first year and we soon needed more space. After a year of trading we moved to our own dedicated space on Douglas Road in Bristol. Now a team of five, we continue to grow our business and refine our kitchen and furniture design services.

George, Co-Founder

I first started picking up carpentry work at university, and in 2007 I went back to college to complete a formal bench joinery qualification. I then spent a decade working as a cabinet maker, furthering my design skills and developing a vision of what I wanted to achieve. In 2018 I wanted to expand my business, so I asked Murray to join me and start Penroe and King.

Murray, Co-Founder

I started out as a local bike mechanic before moving into a mechanical engineering role. Attention to detail has always been a driving force for me. After eight years in engineering I started developing my skills in furniture and cabinet making. Then the opportunity to start a kitchen design and furniture company in Bristol came about and it felt like the natural path.
